Caitlynn's 4th Birthday Party

We celebrated Caitlynn's 4th birthday Dora the Explorer style in NJ at Nonna and Pop-pop's. We ended up having quiet the large guest list including: Uncle Richie, Trish and her kids- Emily, Caitlin and Owen, Grandmom Campisi, Mimi and Popi, Uncle Mike, Aunt Jill, and Hannah, Uncle Rusty and Lindsay, Jason, Jess and Adalena, Uncle Tony, and Betsy and Brian. It was a packed house!

We ended up taking the kids bounce house with us and set it up in the front yard. All the kids loved bouncing around and some of the adults got in on the fun! Caitlynn requested Dora cupcakes, which Nonna made of course. Caitlynn received many great gifts including: LOTS of winter and summer clothes, princess pj's (which she just HAD to try on right away!), Fisher Price camper, Dora stickers, markers, coloring books, cups, and plates.  She certainly was a happy little girl!

Caitlynn is 4!

Caitlynn is now 4 years old and we can't believe how quickly time has flown by! We recently went to the doctor's and she was 38.8 lbs and 41 inches tall. The doctor was more then pleased with her development and skills. She did have to get her MMR shot, which was a very traumatic experience for her. It was the first shot she got in her arm and she fought us the entire time! Her doctor's office is doing a study where they compare children's reactions to the US vaccine to the European vaccine in hopes to get the European vaccine approved in the US. We willingly signed her up as we know first hand how life changing new vaccines and medicines can be! Plus side, they gave Caitlynn money for participating which we let her use to buy new princess dolls (what a surprise!).

Caitlynn is quiet the young lady! She is talking up a storm and has the memory of a steel trap! If we ever promise her something, she will happily remind us. She loves to recite books, songs, movies, and much more! She eagerly tells us about her day and is always curious to find out about ours. She knows all of her uppercase and lowercase letters (sometime she forgets V), some letter sounds, colors, and can count up to 20 but sometimes skips 16 and 17. Her favorite colors now are yellow and pink and her favorite number is 55 (shout out to Mimi there!).

Caitlynn is not a picky eater but she certainly does have some favorites! She currently loves to eat bacon, bagels and cream cheese, and toaster strudels for breakfast. She asks for peanut butter and jelly and sometimes eats 1 1/2 sandwiches! Her favorite dinner items are chicken tacos and stuffed peppers. She recently discovered gum and is great at remembering not to swallow it. That is one of her favorite things to ask for after she eats a meal, even breakfast! We are really enjoying watching her grow and we can't wait to see what the next year brings!

New Years in NJ

Nonna and Pop-pop wanted to have Caitlynn and Luke for a few days during winter break. Laura and Ryan got a chance to ge thte Christmas decorations and tree down and attempted to organize all the kids new clothes and toys. They drove up to NJ to pick up the kids. Nonna and Pop-pop had a New Years dinner at there house with Uncle Richie, Trish, Emily, Caitlin, Owen and Grandmom Campisi (or as Caitlynn calls her "Grandmom with black hair"). It was nice to have everyone together as a family!
