Rolling Over
Caitlynn rolled from her tummy to her back for the first time today. Of course, Laura missed it because she was at work but Ryan was able to catch it on video. We're so excitied that she met this milestone!

Caitlynn's First Food!

We decided it was time for Caitlynn to graduate to "real food" so we gave her rice cereal for the first time tonight. Though she had a hard time getting the whole concept at first, she did eventually open up her mouth when the spoon was near her lips. We're not sure how much cereal she actually ate but she didn't seem to upset by the whole ordeal. We will continue trying this each night around dinner time and will introduce other foods in about one or two weeks. Now we just have to decide if we're going to buy Gerber baby food or have Laura make it at home...

4 Months Old
.jpg)
Caitlynn is now 4 months old and we can't believe how fast time has flown by! It really seems like yesterday that we were on our way to the John's Hopkins hospital to bring her home. She weighs 14 lbs 3 ozs and is 25 1/4 inches long. Her doctor is pleased with her growth and development, has no concerns, and said she is a happy, healthy baby. He shared that we can start to introduce baby cereal sometime between now and her 6 month visit. We are going to wait until Laura is done with the school year. Caitlynn will be 5 months old be then and maybe she'll be ready for the big step to baby food. It was reassuring to hear the great news!
Caitlynn is babbling and smiling all the time. She can play with her toys and loves her activity mat. She will tolerate "tummy time" for longer periods of time and can sit in her Bumbo chair. She loves chewing on her fingers and sometimes will suck on her thumb. She is attempting to roll over but can only get 3/4 of the way there. She is so close and it won't be long!

Today was Laura's first day back to work. She will finish out the school year, which ends June 12th. We are so lucky to have family and friends who are willing and able to take off and come stay with Caitlynn until Laura is off for the summer. Without them, Ryan would have had to take off a lot of time. Thanks Aunt Jill, Nonna, and Aunt Kathy!

Caitlynn at Mommy's Work

I took Caitlynn in to meet my students for the first time today! My students really seemed to enjoy Caitlynn and my co-workers just loved holding her. I bought the students pizza for lunch, which they appeared to enjoy more than meeting Caitlynn! It was great to see how well they are doing and they are excited about me coming back to work soon!
