Week 37
At our doctor visit today, she said I was 1 centimeter dilated. As exciting as this news was, she warned us that I could remain this way for a few weeks or go into labor at any time. Peanut is "fully cooked", as she put it, and anytime is a good time for his or her arrival! With less than 3 weeks until my due date, it won't be long now until we finally get to meet our little Peanut!

Baby Shower at Laura's Work
Here are some pictures from the combo baby shower my work threw for me and two other girls. The other two are due shortly after me, Heather is due late January and Danielle is due early February. Everything was so nice and my co-workers are very generous and thoughtful. Peanut received a lot of great gift items that we'll surely be using once he or she arrives here shortly!

Nursery is started...
My sister-in-law, Hilary Clement, completed the mural last week and it is amazing! It's from the cover of Where the Wild Things Are which goes with our jungle theme. All of the furniture has been delivered and is now put together. We're just not quite sure which set-up will work best in the room. We have a few more things to do yet but it's getting there and before we know it, the baby will be enjoying it! Once everything is in it's place, we'll post more pictures.

Beginning of the 3rd Trimester

I am now 26 weeks pregnant and into my 3rd Trimester. I have been feeling the baby move around a lot and sometimes I think Peanut is doing dance moves (which must come from Ry of course)! Peanut is most active at night time and Ry says you can see the baby kicking when I am lying on my back. I'm still feeling great but a little stretchy now that I've really started to grow! My co-workers are swearing that I get bigger over night and I tend to agree. Enjoy the latest baby bump picture! More to come as I continue to grow and we get closer to meeting our little Peanut!

Week 22

I am now 22 weeks pregnant and I've started to feel the baby kick. It feels like little bubbles popping in my tummy. At first, I wasn't sure what was going on but now that they are happening more frequently, I am sure it's the baby letting me know that it's moving around and growing! I'm back to teaching and this year is going well so far. I'm still feeling good... just tired by the end of the day as my bedtime has moved up to 9:30 every night! I am also snacking more throughout the day and my bathroom break time has gone up drastically too (I'm still trying to figure out how to work this as I don't have much time between groups of students!). Just a part of the "growing" process as the baby continues to take up more space!

20 Week Ultrasound
Today we went for the 20 week ultrasound.Peanut is starting to look like a baby now and the images they got were amazing! They said everything is developing normally and all of the major organs look good. They took a picture or every organ, bone, and body part and we got to see everything as they were doing this. How they were able to get close-up shots of everything is unbelievable. The baby was measuring a bit larger than normal so the doctors said they wouldn't be surprised if we had a big baby (but with Ry as the dad, I'm not surprised by this fact at all!). We had so much fun checking out our baby!

To the disappointment of many, we opted not to find out what we are having. We want it to be a surprise. After all, how many real happy surprises do you get in life? And even if we had wanted to know, the baby was laying on it's side the entire time and wouldn't wake-up and move at all. Based on this fact alone, Ry is claiming it's a girl because I am always sleeping in late so it must be taking after me! We'll be finding out soon enough whether he's right or wrong. We are so excited to be sharing this experience together and can't wait to meet our little on come January!

Week 17

I am currently 17 weeks pregnant and into my 2nd Trimester. We have now shared the happy news with all of our family and friends. The "morning sickness" and nausea are all gone now and the only food aversion I have is to the smell of seafood. I am starting to get a little baby bump so we decided to post a current picture. Enjoy!

Our First Look at Peanut

Today, I went for my first ultrasound. It's a little early to be going but I haven't been feeling well so the doctor ordered the ultrasound to be done earlier than normal. It doesn't look like much at the moment but they said the baby has a strong heartbeat and everything look fine. According to the pictures, I am currently 7 week and 2 days pregnant. The due date for baby Peanut is January 7th, 2009.
