2 Months Old
Luke just had his 2 month check up at the doctors. He now weighs 13 lbs 13 ozs and is 23 3/4 inches long. He is in the 90% for his weight and 75% for his height. The doctor is thrilled with his growth and said he certainly is eating enough. He is also happy with his development of holding up his head for long periods of time, smiling, and starting to coo. He stated most babies get over lactose intolerance by 3 months of age so Laura will be able to go back to regular milk and dairy next month, which she is thrilled about! Luke got 3 shots and one oral vaccine. He cried a little when the shots were given but not for very long. He was a champ!
This was a big month of "firsts for Luke! It was his first- smile, road trip to PA, time meeting his Great-Grandmom Harbold, play date with Gabe Dickun, trip to the DC Zoo, time meeting Uncle Andrew and Aunt Kitty, and Easter! He was a busy boy!
Luke usually goes to sleep between 10:30 and 11:00 and will sleep for 11 hours. He wakes up anywhere from 3-5 times to nurse at night before waking up for the day. Then he is nursing every 2 hours all day long. He isn't on any nap schedule and will usually take 2-3 "cat naps" during the day that range from 20 mins to 1 hour long. We are enjoying all of his smiles and coos and are so excited to see what next month will bring!

Early Easter
Since Uncle Andrew and Aunt Kitty (Hilary) were in town for the weekend so we planned to celebrate Easter a day early. Pop-pop, Nonna, and Uncle Richie came down from NJ and Laura's cousin Lynn and her husband JL came from the DC area. We had homemade ravioli's, gnocchi, and meatballs along with Easter bread and rolls from a local NJ bakery. We even made an eclair cake to celebrate Nonna's birthday a bit early. We loved celebrating Luke's first Easter with his aunt, uncles, and grandparents on Laura's side. The day was excellent and so was the company!

Abstract Art

Aunt Kitty is a great artist and has painted the murals in both the kids bedrooms along with some art we have in our house (check out her blog that we follow- hilary paints!). While she was visiting, we had to take advantage of her talent so she and Caitlynn broke out the finger paints. Caitlynn loved painting with her Aunt Kitty and didn't even get to much paint of her face or clothes! They both had a great time bonding over art!
Pump It Up!
Uncle Andrew and Aunt Kitty were in town so we decided to check out Pump It Up! It's a place with gigantic inflatable slides, bounce houses, and obstacle courses. Some of the courses were a bit too advanced for Caitlynn but she really enjoyed the smaller bounce houses and slides. We think Uncle Andrew had the most fun bouncing around in the different houses! Here are some pictures from her adventures with them that day along with a video of her and Aunt Kitty on a slide.

Luke's First Trip to the Zoo

Uncle Richie was in town visiting and he loves going to the zoo. The weather cleared up enough for us to visit the DC Zoo. This was Luke's first trip to the zoo. He was quite and hung out in his carrier most of the day. We got to see the new lion cubs, though they didn't look very little to us! Caitlynn loved seeing the snakes and monkeys, as always. She even got to see a few go from one monkey house to the other. It was a successful trip and a good time was had by all!

Caitlynn's First Hair Cut

While Laura was in PA, she decided to take Caitlynn to get her first hair cut at Joanne's shop Essential Studios. It is a good friend of the family and has been cutting hair for the Harbold family for a long time. Caitlynn's hair has been getting kinda crazy and she really needed to get it trimmed so that the curls would bounce back a little. Even though she had been to Joanne's shop before, she didn't want to sit in the chair all by herself so she sat on Mimi's lap instead. She was unsure of the hair cutting process until Joanne presented her with a yellow lollipop (her favorite color!) and then it was all downhill from there! She sat great during the entire haircut and even let her put in a little spray that made her hair really curly. We didn't get much cut off, just enough to frame her face and make the curls bounce back more. It was a successful trip and we are so thankful for those magical lollipops!

Luke's First Trip to PA
Ryan and Popi were lucky enough to get tickets to a practice round of the Master's. Laura decided it would be best to take the kids up to PA while he was away so she wouldn't have to be by herself. It was Luke's first trip up to PA and it included a lot of first for him such as: having a play date with Gabe Dickun, meeting Grandma Harbold, and vising Uncle Rusty and Popi at work. Caitlynn had a lot of fun playing with Uncle Rusty on his day off as they chased birds in the back yard and played in the firetruck. Mimi had an early Easter Egg hunt for Caitlynn which she loved! Her favorite part was opening up the eggs and eating the treats inside! She even got her "nails done" by Mimi. It was a successful first road trip with both kids and Laura was happy to have all the extra help while Ryan was away.
Port Discovery
Nonna and Pop-pop came down to visit. They were hoping to go into DC to see the cherry blossom but it was rainy and cold out. We decided to check out Port Discovery in Baltimore with Caitlynn instead. She loved running around and playing in all of the different areas. One of her favorites were the Tot Trails which featured a sand table and a area to play hide-and-seek in. She also loved Wonders of Water, where she got her entire shirt soaked. Unfortunately, Mommy did not pack an extra shirt for her so after that, we ended up having to go home. It was close to her nap time anyways and she was starting to melt down a bit so it kinda worked out! It was a fun time had by all and everyone was tired at the end of the day!

Colored Bubbles
Caitlynn was given Crayola color bubbles from her friend Hana. She loves bubbles so we decided to test them out! They really did come out green and orange and were really neat! As you can see by the pictures, she put the bubble wands to close to her face. Happily, the commercials are correct and they are washable!
